Diagnostic Ultrasound Scans
Sound-wave imaging of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and joints — to help diagnose the cause of your pain quickly and accurately, right here in clinic.
Ultrasound is safe, non-invasive, and does not use any radiation.
See inside the injury
At Treatment Table we are delighted to have the ability to offer a diagnostic ultrasound service. Whether it is a long standing issue or something you just want to drop in and check, we can accommodate all.
Ultrasound imaging uses sound waves to produce pictures of muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves and joints throughout the body. It is used to help diagnose sprains, strains, tears, trapped nerves, arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions.
Conditions we scan for
Tendonitis
Tendon tears or Tendonitis, most commonly of the Rotator Cuff in the shoulder, or Achilles Tendon in the ankle.
Muscle tears
Muscle tears, masses or fluid collections.
Ligament sprains or tears
Inflammation
Within joints and the bursae.
Arthritis
Ultrasound can detect early changes of Arthrits.
Stress Fractures
Trapped Nerves
Cysts
Hernias
What happens during your scan
Ultrasound machines consist of a computer console, video monitor and an attached transducer. The transducer is a small hand-held device that resembles a microphone.
We apply a small amount of gel to the area under examination and places the transducer there. The gel allows sound waves to travel back and forth between the transducer and the area under examination. The ultrasound image is immediately visible on a video monitor. We can talk you through what we see.
